Eonour Technologies, a Chennai based technology solution provider had
recently bagged an order from PELECON (Pondicherry electronics ltd, A
Govt of Pondicherry undertaking and subsidiary of PIPDIC Limited), which
is the state level agency for State Election Commission (SEC), for developing
a web-based application for (SEC) Pondicherry: Election Management Information
Systems (EMIS) that automates the whole election process.
The Election Management Information System (EMIS) is a web-based application
developed to meet the requirements of State Election Commission, Pondicherry
such as Election announcement, nomination withdrawal, scrutiny of nominations
and allotment of symbols, appointment of personnel for conducting elections,
casting and counting of votes and announcement of the poll results.
The automation will aid the State Election Commission in getting online
information during the time of its civic election from its various centers.
The coverage of this system is in over 15 centers including areas such
as Mahe, Karaikal, Yanam etc. The information related for public can be
uploaded onto the web from the system for generic viewing.
