The Trading Sessions of eonx are

Pre-Opening Session:

  • This is an installation parameter.
  • If pre-opening exists, the duration is the parameter in the system. During this session, limit orders in all scrips irrespective of their trading modes, are permitted to be entered into the system.
  • Orders can be modified or deleted in this period. No other orders are allowed.
  • Input filter checks would not be applied to the prices of the limit orders in this session

Opening Session:

  • This session will be there only if the pre-opening session exists.
  • Either the opening session would be used to calculate the opening price for each scrip or the first trade in the normal trading session would be taken as the opening price for each scrip.
  • Either of the above 2 options have to be chosen by the respective exchange.
  • If there is an opening session, the duration of the session would be a system parameter.
  • During this session, no transactions would be allowed into the system.
  • The system would use this time to compute the official opening price of each scrip in the system.
  • The opening price would be calculated based on the order input into the system during the pre-opening session.

Normal Trading Session:

  • This would be the actual on-line trading session.
  • In this mode, order and quotes can be entered depending on the mode of scrip. No quotes are allowed for scrips in order driven mode.

Closing Session:

  • This is a short session after closing of the normal trading session. It would compute the closing prices for each scrip in the system.
